The Circus With the Yellow Clown, 1967, Marc Chagall |
The life of a circus clown... so happy, so gay.
How much better than this can it get, you say?
My lot in life is to entertain without fail.
Night after night... no repose, no curtail
Frock of frills in a carefree yellow hue
Hides my true colour inside which is blue.

Nicely done! I just adore clowns and am so enjoying these poems!
ReplyDeleteIs that why so many people are afraid of clowns? Actually, this could be the chorus of a song...I like the way it read, but bet it wold "sing" too!
ReplyDeleteSo often blue on the inside...
ReplyDeleteAll too often true, I fear.
